Why We Start Canvassing After a Storm (And Why Youll See Our Signs on the Corners)
When hail, wind, or a major storm hits, one thing is obvious to us: people are going to need help restoring their home.
The hard part is this:
- Some homeowners have damage.
- Some homeowners dont.
- Some homeowners have damage and dont realize it.
- Some homeowners want help.
- Some homeowners dont.
And right after a storm, theres no way to tell whos who just by driving past. Thats why we canvass. Not because were trying to annoy peoplebut because canvassing is the fastest, most direct way to find the homeowners who actually need help, and to make sure they know theres a local company that can handle the whole process.
The truth: storm time is when homeowners need answers
After a storm, a lot of people are suddenly dealing with questions theyve never had to answer before:
- Do I need to file a claim?
- What does my deductible really mean?
- What if the adjuster misses things?
- How do I know if my roof is damaged?
- Who can I trust to do the work?
Some homeowners have never done an insurance claim in their life. Others have done it beforebut it was stressful, confusing, and they dont want to go through that again.
And some people decide to handle the claim themselveswhich is finebut they still need a contractor who can do the work correctly and stay on top of what insurance is supposed to cover.
Thats where we come in.
Why we knock doors (canvassing)
We knock doors to do three things:
- Introduce ourselves so you know who we are
- Offer an inspection so youre not guessing about damage
- Explain what we dobecause were not a one-trade roofer, were storm restoration and insurance-driven work
Were here to help with the restoration and the insurance sidedocumentation, adjuster meetings, supplements, code itemsso homeowners arent left trying to figure it out alone.
Why we put yard signs on the corners (and drive marked vehicles)
We also try to make sure you can recognize us in the neighborhood. Thats why youll see:
- Yard signs at major corners/entrances
- Our advertised trucks/vehicles in the area
That visibility matters because if we dont show up and communicate, then:
- How would you know we exist?
- How would you know what we specialize in?
- How would you know theres a company that can actually help you through the storm process?
The signs arent just marketingtheyre a way to make it easy for the right homeowner to find us when theyre ready.
We get it: it can be overwhelming
We understand it can be frustrating when you get multiple people knocking on your doorsometimes for days or even weeks after a storm. We respect that. Our goal is to be the opposite of pushy: clear, helpful, and professional. If you dont need anything, well move on. If you do, well make the process easier.
If you were hit by hail or wind, we can help
If you think you may have storm damageor you just want a straight answerreach out.
Your storm. Our fight.
